Goodbye Paris

  • Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts: Studio Theatre 390 King Street West Kingston, ON, K7L 2X4 Canada (map)

Goodbye Paris is a musical written by Paul Ledoux and John Roby about The Lost Generation that focuses on characters “lost in the shadows” of the iconic figures of Hemingway and the Fitzgeralds. Our characters are young, ambitious and entangled in a complex web of conflicts driven by the corrosive power of fame and confused sexual identities. They live in a narcissistic community feeding off of each other’s lives to create their art. Everyone is on the make. Everyone is falling in love with the wrong person. It's a laugh riot until a long simmering conflict between Hemingway and his former lover Robert McAlmon knocks their world sideways. And the comedy gets a little darker.

Goodbye Paris will be performed by students from the Dan School of Drama and Music, where they have enrolled in a four-week intensive music theatre internship in performance, music direction, direction, stage management, pit musicianship and design.
