As a member of the Queen’s University Polyhymnia Vocal Ensemble, Michelle is proud to take part in an exciting collaborative concert with the Canadian Chamber Choir!
On March 20th and 21st, the Dan School of Drama & Music in collaboration with The Kingston Chamber Choir are bringing the Canadian Chamber Choir to The Isabel. This collaboration will include workshops with the choral ensembles and composition students.
On the evening of Wednesday, March 20th there will be a concert featuring the Canadian Chamber Choir under the direction of Dr. Julia Davids, along with performances by the Kingston Chamber Choir and Polyhymnia Vocal Ensemble of Queen’s University. This collaboration will bring together a professional, community, and student choir at a remarkable concert showcasing Canadian choral talent.
This concert of all Canadian music will include many modern Canadian compositions, and we are thrilled that six of the composers will be present that evening. These include works by our own Dr. John Burge and Dr. Dean Burry, along with Martha Hill Duncan, Jeff Ens, Yuang Chen (Queen’s graduate), and Laura Hawley (all of whom will be present), and additional works by Stephen Chatman, Imant Raminsh, Sarah Quartel, and many others. Bass clarinetist Jeff Reilly will also be featured along with Queen’s clarinet professor Dr. Kornel Wolak.
The Juno nominated Canadian Chamber Choir are one of the most celebrated choirs in North America, and we are thrilled to be welcoming them to the Isabel.
Please consider purchasing a ticket for this event, celebrating choral singers and composers both close to home, and from across Canada.
